East and Southern Africa Subregional Meeting
In August 2008, a subregional meeting focused on East and Southern Africa was organized in Zambia, in collaboration with the Roll Back Malaria Partnership, World Health Organization, and PATH MVI. Approximately 40 participants, representing a wide range of technical experts on malaria, immunization, and health systems, validated the Decision-Making Framework (DMF) as an important starting point for countries in the subregion to use in planning for malaria vaccines. They recommended that the DMF be disseminated to local and global partners and governments, and that a strategy document be developed for its implementation.
